Do you always dream about eating to heart’s content yet never gain weight? Do not want to diet or eat tasteless so called healthy food, yet remain slim and healthy?

Don’t worry, this post is for you only. You will get to know how to eat wisely and combine workout in your daily life for maximum benefit.

Our Body Is A Machine

So, first of all we should know the working of our body. Our body is like a machine. It requires fuel to work and maintenance for better performance. Simple mathematics defines the weight loss and gain. The calorie intake is directly proportional to the work done throughout the day.

If our energy consumption is more than the energy produced by the body then we will experience weight loss and vice versa. The main reason of weight gain in a normal person is the lack of activity. Here, I’m not talking about a person having any medical condition because of which they gain weight.

In earlier times, no one ever complaint of weight gain and lifestyle diseases. Only the kings who never went on war experienced this rich disease. Have you thought about the reason behind this?

Main reason was that in ancient times life was very difficult. All the people had to do work on their own and they never had enough money to afford rich and calorie ridden diet. Whatever little money they used to earn was used up in fulfilling various needs. So, they had simple and locally available foods. This diet was usually fresh because it was locally grown and there were no refrigerators to keep the food to eat afterwards. The fresh and low calorie food ensured that all remained healthy.

With the advert of new technologies and improvement in lifestyle of all, we became more and more comfortable. New new gadgets came to make our lives easy and house help also became easy to find with more and more people from villages migrating to cities for work.

With globalization, foods from all round the world became available to us. As I said earlier, the food on which we have grown up never harm us but any food unknown to our body contributes in fat if taken in large quantities. Pizza and Pasta will never affect Italians but add several inches to our waistline.

Our diet became more and more rich and our life became easier. So, the mathematics of calorie in calorie out messed up. We consumed more calories than we could use.

This does not mean that we should leave our comfortable lifestyle and go back to hard work. While having all the comforts we can still remain healthy and slim by making small changes in our daily lives.

The Key To Never Gain Weight

So, if we are able to make energy gained and energy consumed equal somehow then we can eat without thinking about weight gain.

First of all, regular exercise is needed everyday! Yes every single day you need to do some form of workout. Intensity of workout depends upon what type of diet you are taking and what is your target weight.

To reduce more weight, you need to diet for a couple of months and then
follow the advice here to maintain that weight. My advice is to reduce at least 4 to 5 kgs more than your target weight so that when you start with normal food, this extra weight loss will act as buffer zone and you can maintain your desired weight easily.

So, now we’ll look step by step what we need to do to remain healthy and disease free. 

1. Regular Exercise

Again and again you must have heard the benefits of exercise. It’s the one and only way to remain healthy and disease free. Just as your car requires a drive in every few days otherwise the battery will be dead, our body too needs exercise everyday.

So, ditch that early morning sleep a little and start getting up early so that you get time to exercise. If opting for Yoga, it should be done empty stomach or in late evening when our lunch is fully digested. 

If you are more into vigorous workout, it’s better to have a filling but healthy breakfast before it so that you have sufficient power and don’t feel weakness and dizziness while exercising.

2. Good Eating habits

The second factor is of course eating wisely. Yes you can eat anything yet never gain weight but moderation is the key.

Our day to day home made food on which we have grown up never contributes in weight gain. Junk food, sweets and soft drinks are the main reason for unwanted fat on our body. Even home made sweets can be had once in a while without thinking much about.

Our Indian festivals are occasions to prepare and consume high calorie diet but even our ancestors knew the importance of healthy eating, that’s why the festivals are all separated apart by a good amount of time. So, if we eat sweets and rich foods only on some special occasions it will never harm us and we can enjoy them in life. It’s only when we start taking and enjoying sweets and junk food like Pizza, Burger, Pasta etc. on regular basis, our bodies get all messed up and results in weight and fat gain.

One more thing to note is that our traditional foods never fatten us. For eg if a Punjabi eats paratha in breakfast he’ll never gain weight but if a person from South India start eating parathas everyday, it’ll not be late when a few inches will add to his waistline. So, the food on which you have grown up from childhood, eat it fearlessly and practise moderation for all other foods.

3. Breakfast Like A King

Breakfast is the most important meal of the day we all know, still I have seen numerous people skipping it or eating 3-4 hours after getting up. This is a huge mistake everyone make. I have always eaten a healthy and filling breakfast throughout my life and later came to know that studies prove how important breakfast is to us.

Always remember this: Breakfast like a King, lunch like a Prince and dinner like a Pauper/Beggar

If you follow this advice everyday, you will never gain weight which you have to regret later.

4. Never Starve Yourself

Our body is very intelligent. It knows when there’s a scarcity of food, it then stores the energy in form of fat to be used later. So, if it’s not getting food when required, it’ll convert most of the food to fat. So, it’s better not to starve yourself for long times. Keep eating small portions at regular interval. This will also prevent overeating afterwards because hunger will take over then and you will end up eating more.

5. Fasting

Yes, our ancestors knew everything about healthy eating and it’s benefits. That’s why they devised the system of fasting at the name of religion so that more and more people will do it. We observe various fasts throughout the year according to our traditions. But if we make it a habit of observing fast for one day per week, it’ll prove hugely beneficial.

Choose any day of the week according to you, but stick to light and healthy food, not the fried and sweets we are accustomed to have in the name of fasting. Giving our digestive system rest for a day helps it recuperate with our unhealthy eating habits and flushes out toxins from our body.

6. Proper Sleep

Yes, our sleeping patterns play an important role in our lives. For a healthy adult, 6 to 8 hours of sleep is required each day. Though it’s recommended to sleep early and wake up early, if you are not a morning person, it’s perfectly ok to sleep a little late and get up late. But don’t make it a habit to sleep after midnight and getting up after 10 in morning. Sometimes, you can do it but not on regular basis. While we may not bother about our sleeping habits, they play an important role in our digestion system and hence our overall health.

So, now you know the secret to eat anything yet never gain weight. Implement it in your daily life and see the results very soon. These are very small changes everyone can make in their life. Our body is place where we live and we have to maintain it. It’s a precious gift from God and if you will abuse your body beyond limit, it’ll leave your side very soon.
